The Power of Connection

The Power of Connection in business

I thought that I would write today about the power of connection.  Several things have caused me to think about this subject lately.  One is returning to face-to-face events, still relatively recently, after the pandemic and realising the benefits of doing this, despite the advantages of using video technology, such as Zoom, which I also continue to use.

The Power of Connection in our personal life

On a more personal level, there is travelling to see family and friends that I have not seen for a while, and friends travelling to see me – things are definitely getting back to some kind of ‘normal’, even if things will never be the same as before.

Appreciating what we have

I think that there is a new appreciation of the things that matter in life and the value of connection.  Sometimes, sadly, we have to miss someone or something to fully appreciate what they or it means to us, whether that is a person, a pet, a relationship, a situation, etc. You may wish to read this previous blog post I wrote on the subject of Gratitude.

Life is precious

I also think that getting older and losing people that we love brings a new sense of awareness of just how precious life is.  We can either dwell on what we had before or embrace life and enjoy each day.  How you choose to deal with the challenges of life, will really affect how happy you are in your life.  Life is not fair and the sooner we realise and accept this the better.

Learn from life’s challenges

It has been a tough couple of years, but I like to learn from life’s challenges.  I believe in lifelong learning and the value that these lessons can bring us.  I feel that we can enjoy life more if we do the following things:

  • Be grateful for what we have.
  • Dwell on the positive things in life, rather than the negative.
  • Try to make a positive difference to other people.
  • Get out of our comfort zone and embrace new things.
  • Appreciate the people around us – and, very importantly, let them know that we do.
  • Connect with like-minded people who help to motivate and inspire us.
  • Do the things that make us happy.
  • Remember the importance of self-care.
  • Don’t forget to laugh!

Have a wonderful life folks! If you enjoyed reading this blog post you may wish to follow me on Facebook.
